Adding and Updating Programs
What it is for
The Programs page lists every CCAH program in three sections: Music Programs, Youth Programming, and Older Adults Programming. Each program is a card with a photo, a description, a details panel, and an optional button.
Programs do not have their own web pages. Everything appears on that one listing page, so there is no separate link to check after you save.
Where to edit them
Sign in, then open the Programs Editor. Everything happens on that one page.
You will see every program grouped into the same three sections as the public page. Click Edit beside one to change it, or Add a new program at the top.
The fields on each program
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Program name | Shown at the top of the card. |
| Description | The paragraphs shown under the name. |
| Photo | The photo on the card. With no photo, the card shows a plain navy panel instead. |
| Section of the page | Music Programs, Youth Programming, or Older Adults Programming. This decides which section of the page the card appears in. |
| Status | Display shows the card normally. Coming Soon shows it with a yellow Coming Soon badge. Hidden takes it off the page entirely. |
| Start date and End date | Both optional. Leave both blank and the program always shows. Fill them in and the card appears and disappears on those dates on its own, so nobody has to remember to hide a summer program in October. |
| Button wording and Button link | Fill in both and a button appears on the card, for example Register Now pointing at a signup form. Leave either one empty and no button shows. |
| When | Free text, for example "Fall (September to December) and Spring (January to June)". |
| Day and Time | Free text, for example "Sundays" or "Select Tuesdays, 1:00 to 3:00 PM". |
| Location | Free text, for example a venue name or address. |
| Ages | Free text, for example "Ages 8 and up". |
| Registration | Free text, for example "Opens early April" or an email address. |
The five fields from When down to Registration fill the blue details panel on the card. Leave any of them blank and that line is left out.
Adding a new program
Click Add a new program at the top of the Programs Editor. Fill in the name and description, choose the section and the status, add the details, then click Save program.
It appears on the Programs page right away.
Choosing a photo
Use a wide, landscape photo, roughly 4:3 or wider. A tall portrait photo such as a printed flyer gets cropped to fit the card and usually loses the top and bottom.
Open the program and click Choose a photo. You can upload a new one from your computer or pick something already in the library, then click Use this photo. Remove photo takes it back off again.
Neither choosing a photo nor removing one takes effect until you click Save program.
Taking a program off the page
Set its Status to Hidden and click Save program. It stays saved with all its details, so you can put it back next season by switching the status to Display. The Remove button is for programs that are finished for good.
The order the cards appear in
Within each section, cards are sorted by their Order number, lowest first, so 10 sits above 20. The list shows the number beside every program. To move one, open it and give it a new Order number.
