On November 5, CCAH Youth Outreach Coordinators were honoured to join students in Georgetown for a powerful screening of Honour Before Glory at Christ the King Catholic Secondary School. This impactful documentary by Director/Producer Anthony Sherwood shines a light on Canada’s only all-Black World War I battalion, The Number Two Construction Battalion.⁠

We are grateful to Anthony Sherwood Films for partnering with us to share this important piece of history. Black history is Canadian history, and learning these stories helps us honour the sacrifices of those who came before us.⁠

For those interested, a public screening of Honour Before Glory will take place on Monday, November 11 at 6:45 PM at Revue Cinemas. CCAH is not involved in this screening, but we encourage you to attend and experience this powerful story. Tickets available at revuecinema.ca

On October 11, MP Pam Damoff and Minister Marci Ien visited the CCAH office, where they had the opportunity to meet with our Executive Director, Dionne Downer. Their visit coincided with a carpentry workshop organized by the Canadian Association for Girls in Science (CAGIS) in Oakville. Celebrating International Day of the Girl in such a meaningful way highlighted the importance of empowering young women and supporting initiatives that open doors for their futures!⁠
