The Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton is a registered charity serving the residents of Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills, and Burlington.

Join us on February 1st at 2:00pm at QEPCCC Main G Join us on February 1st at 2:00pm at QEPCCC Main Gallery as we open a month-long celebration of art and culture. This opening reception will bring together community, creativity, and sound in an evening that honours shared identity across diverse cultural roots.

The event will feature a live harp performance by Pearl Schachter, inspired by the legacy of H.T. Burleigh, whose work bridged ancestral traditions and classical music on a global stage.

Celebrate Black History Month through art at the Q Celebrate Black History Month through art at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC) Main Gallery in Oakville and the Holcim Gallery in Milton. The exhibit will run from February 1 to February 28, curated by the renowned Francesca Durham.

Out of Many Cultures, One People: An Afro-Caribbean Collective, is a curated exhibition celebrating the richness and diversity of Black culture. 

Participating artists reflect on heritage, memory, migration, and resilience; revealing how distinct cultural traditions converge into a collective Black experience. 

This exhibit honours difference without division, presenting art as a unifying force that amplifies many stories into one people, one rhythm, and one enduring cultural voice. We hope to see you there. 🤎🧡

This holiday season, we’re partnering with HRPS This holiday season, we’re partnering with HRPS to support those affected by Hurricane Melissa. You can help by donating a backpack filled with new items from our donation list. Loose items are welcome too!

We’re accepting donation drop-offs until December 22nd. Items can be dropped off at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre Reception. 

After the collection, all donations will be delivered to the New Haven Funeral Centre for the Jamaican Canadian Association to distribute to impacted communities.

Come out for a Youth vs. HRPS basketball game, a hands-on steelpan workshop, creative time in the Makerspace, and open drop-in games throughout the Youth Centre. Snacks and refreshments will be available.

The CCAH is currently working to develop a compreh The CCAH is currently working to develop a comprehensive youth development and leadership leadership program, designed to equip secondary school students with life skills and leadership and entrepreneurial skills, while also exploring arts, wellness, and civic engagement in a culturally affirming environment. We recognize that to truly reflect the needs and interests of youth, this cannot be done without the voices of the youth themselves. We are seeking interested and passionate young leaders to provide input and help shape the elements of this program. Apply to join today to make the program both for the youth and by the youth!

What to Expect:

Members are expected to commit at a minimum one hour per month starting in late January leading up to the launch of the program in late May, 2026.

Purpose of the Committee:

To provide input and guidance on the development of CCAH’s youth programming, ensuring it reflects the interests, needs, and perspectives of youth. The committee will help shape program content, activities, and engagement strategies so that the youth leadership program is meaningful, relevant, and appealing to young people in the Halton Region.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide feedback on the proposed program plan developed by CCAH staff

Recommend ideas for program content including workshop topics, guest speakers, and off-site experiences

Contribute creative input for promotional materials such as logo design and social media content

Act as ambassadors for the program, promoting the program among peers and in your community

Help to ensure the overall program is engaging, inclusive, and appealing to youth

Provide feedback during and after program delivery to help improve future youth programming

Qualities we’re looking for:

·  Passion for leadership, community building, empowering Black youth, and making an impact

·  Strong communication and teamwork skills

·  Creativity and willingness to share ideas and feedback

·  Experience organizing or helping with events or projects

Over the month of September, CCAH had the wonderful opportunity of taking part in the Theory of Change project led by the United Way Halton & Hamilton and McMaster University. A huge thank you to Professor McKnight and his students from the Integrated Business and Humanities program at the DeGroote School of Business.  They did much-needed work to equip the CCAH with a Theory of Change for the organization.⁠
